Split editor window to see 2 different parts of program

gary wilson 7 years ago in Metrology Software / PC-DMIS updated by neil kay 5 years ago 2

When copying/pasting parts of the program I have to keep scrolling up/down, would be useful to split the editor in 2 and show 2 different parts of the program as the same time (similar functionally is in MS Word by dragging the handle at the top of the scroll bar).

Conrtruct a cone from circles.

Gene 7 years ago in Metrology Software / PC-DMIS updated by neil kay 5 years ago 1

Make PC DMIS able to construct a cone from two or more circles.

Currently you can force it to do this by extracting points from your circles and constructing the Cone, but this is very time intensive and also does not allow for true point vectoring.

Dimension report unit exchange between mm and inches

Sonny Setyawidjaya 7 years ago in Metrology Software / PC-DMIS updated by neil kay 5 years ago 1

Need the simple exchange button for the dimension report units between mm and inches. We have over 200 dimension and it should be simple for developer to add this function on standard PC-DMIS.

Report Tab at bottom of Graphic Display Window

Sean Campion 7 years ago in Metrology Software / PC-DMIS updated 1 year ago 3

Add a tab for the report window at the bottom of the graphic display window similar to the vision or laser tabs. This way you dont have to use the clunky menu options or hotkeys to switch back and forth to it.

Could we implement a directory/folder rather than a PRG for program selection?

Guillermo 7 years ago in Metrology Software / Inspect updated by neil kay 4 years ago 3

Some programs may have support files like pcdmis forms, basic scripts, bitmaps, external commands, etc.  Very often, the best way to manage a program is to create a folder for it and then allow the program to reside within that folder with all its supporting files in same location.

This is because it is often impractical to have many programs in folders with all their support files intermix.

It would be nice to be able to specify whether to treat a folder as a program container that can be selected for execution.  (On main Measurement routine screen).  Bitmap association to it.

The rule would have to be that a folder name must be identical to the program name.

I know this is a complicated request.  This is how one of our customers that has 50+ CMMs has his custom interface (developed by us Hexagon) configured.

Location of programs is remote (network).

Executing measurement routine is actually a local copy of the folder and its contents.

Don't close PC-DMIS on closing INSPECT if PC-DMIS was already started before INSPECT

anders isaksson 8 years ago in Metrology Software / Inspect updated by neil kay 5 years ago 6

It's a bit irritating that INSPECT always closes PC-DMIS when closing, even when PC-DMIS was already started before INSPECT.

This may not be a real problem for end users, only for those that run a lot of tests of different things...
