ON SCREEN JOG BOX TO ELIMINATE THE NEED OF PICKING UP THE CONTROLLER

I would like to have the control to have the same functions of the jog box on my computer screen so that if I get a crash and I'm nowhere near the CMM I can remote onto the computer move the probe away from the crash, edit my program and continue it. This would also be great for those of us that have large CMM's so that we don't need to go to the opposite end of the machine to grab the jog box just to move a probe a few thousandths away from the part.

Add RFID or similar to probe and stylus module

As written in the title my proposal is to add a RFID or similar to the probe (e.g. HP-S-X1C,...) and to the stylus module.

The goal is to eliminate crashes which happen if the operator selects a wrong currently loaded probe.

I think the added cost of the RFID is way smaller than the cost of crashes.

Jog Box

CMMs need the option to have wireless jog boxes. I trip over the cord all the time and wheel over it with my chair.

Probe Shank alarm

For metal parts while using metal Probe shanks.

Create an alarm that tells the programmer and/or operator that the probe has shanked out.

A simple conductivity sensor would make this work on existing CMMs and new CMMs.

laser scanning from Nikon, LC15Dx

it would to run this laser scanner on PC-DMIS. it would be great that PC-DMIS can support wider range of metrology equipments.

JOG A-XIS & B-AXIS ON CONTROLLER

This function would be great to have the ability to find  the perfect angle for difficult and complex orientations. being able to control the A-Axis & B-Axis with the jog box would eliminate the need to always rely on the Auto Wrist function or to select from the grid  until you finally choose the correct angle.

5 AXIS CMM HEAD

it seems that many CMM software supporting 5 AXIS CMM HEAD for example PH20 from Renishaw. it would be nice that PH20 can run on PC-DMIS.

Distance-to-go while executing a program

When executing a program, not much information is available to you, and knowing how far a probe is about to travel is a great indicator of whether or not you're in the right ballpark.

Simply a value showing how far the probe is going to move before it reaches the point in which it will switch to touch speed or begin moving in another direction.

We see more and more machinist being trained to run PC-DMIS, and this is a comfortable feature they're used to seeing when running their CNC machines. I think it could help prevent many CMM crashes.
