Probe Utilities - Setup - Clearance Distance - In Z

Probe Utilities - Setup - Clearance Distance -

In Z when qualification tool shank is perpendicular to Z axis: - This item defines the clearance distance in the Z axis when the qualification tool's shank is perpendicular to the Z axis. When the qualification tool is mounted on a horizontal shank, it sometimes needs extra Z clearance movement, especially on horizontal arm machines, to avoid collisions. The measurement units are the same as those used by your measurement routine.

This Clearance distance setting will move the probe after calibrating selected tips. Add the ability to use this setting to move the probe before and after calibrating selected tips.

Move Program Mode Icon to Measured Features Toolbar

Kingsld1 6 years ago in Metrology Software / PC-DMIS updated by neil kay 5 years ago 0

As far as I know Program Mode is only used with Measured Features.  Makes sense to me to take it off the graphic modes toolbar and move it to where it is used.   Easier to find and semi-logical.

Optical flatness measurement

Wolle 6 years ago in Metrology Software / PC-DMIS updated by neil kay 5 years ago 10

We often have to measure very small optical flatnesses on contact surfaces.

Here it would be useful if I had to Focus with once window only.

Simply define the measurement window and the division of the measuring range analogous to the measuring method from Werth GmbH.

Offer the same simple way to swap measured features between polar and cartesian coordinates, as is possible in auto features.

Canned  dimensional support for:

-Measuring a fixed radius then measuring an average point back to it's center point.

-Measuring a fixed radius then reporting out the high and the low points back to center and giving a max and min radius.

Probe prioritizing in loops

Salisbury83 6 years ago in Metrology Software / PC-DMIS updated by neil kay 5 years ago 0

When I create a part loop for 100 parts I would like the ability to run probe 1 on all 100 parts before switching to probe 2 and starting at part 1 again with the correct alignment.  If i create both probes in same loop program it takes more time changing probes than it does checking each part. The loop does create the alignments like this ABC[1] right now but once out of the loop and switching to probe 2 their is no way to recall alignment ABC[1] and start from part 1 thru 100 again. This would eliminate having to create external alignments using variables.

Target Dimension Modifier (Support for Assignments).

Kyle Brummans 6 years ago in Metrology Software / PC-DMIS updated by neil kay 5 years ago 0

The ability to modify targets without effecting alignment changes.

Currently if I mirror a program or change an alignment - my target formula does not change it's nominal value.  Therefore the CMM drives to the wrong place.  Sometimes by 1000's of mm.  Because this is not supported in this way our company frowns upon the use of assignments.
