Distance evaluation

Gábor Tóth 5 лет назад в Metrology Software / PC-DMIS обновлен neil kay 5 лет назад 2

Hi,

Maybe a bug or removed from program, but earlier it was worked.

It was a good trick, if we did'nt want to change the workplane to evaluation a point to point distance related to third element. Since 2019R2 is not worked.

Now If the third element Cylinder,Cone or 3D line(axis) it is not working:

If the third element plane working:

Could we kindly ask to repair this evaluation (ASAP because some of program use this method)

Thanks in advance!

Hello Gábor Tóth,

I've filed this item as a bug in our tracking system so I'll close this idea since we already support Perp / Parallel to feature distances.

Just a note on the above (in case this comes up in anyone's search later) the distance relation to the cylinder would need to be parallel rather then perpendicular. It actually appears to be correct in this example because the distance perpendicular to the cylinder between those points is 0.929.

The distance does go to zero when toggled to parallel though which I would expect in the ZPLUS workplane, but it is inconsistent with the plane being used as a reference feature.

Hi Matt,

Thank you for registering this bug in the tracking system. I hope somebody fixes it as soon as she/he can.

Regarding your comment, maybe I didn't write it well that the green example and the 22mm distance is the right. This is the correct Z value. Earlier worked with any 3D element .
Earlier (Independent from workplane) if we measure a simple distance between PNT1 and PNT2 and mark a third element then the third element vectors give to us the "level"and workplane together .

If you close this with "declined" no problem, just I kindly ask you that somebodys fix it.
Thanks!
