Hey Matt, thanks for your reply. Sorry, "bullet" was a translation error. What i mean is i want to automatically scan a sphere/ball geometry. This function is available for circles, but not for spherical geometries. I already talked with the hotline about this and they told me so far PC-DMIS does not have this possibility.
Thanks for clarifying! As you mention the current method for scanning spherical geometry would be a number of linear/circle scans and then a constructed sphere.
Adding a scanning strategy for spheres makes good sense. I edited the title a bit to help other uses find this topic.
The feature includes four path generation methods:
Latitudinal Path: Creates multiple circular scan paths at different heights on the sphere. The paths are generated in planes perpendicular to the sphere surface vector.
Latitudinal Spiral Path: Creates a continuous spiral path that progresses between specified start and end heights. A single spiral path is sufficient to measure a sphere.
Longitudinal Path: Creates scan paths that extend between the poles of the sphere. Multiple slices can be generated at specified angular intervals.
ISO Style Path Pattern: Generates four predefined scan paths based on the scan pattern described in ISO 10360-4, including two latitudinal and two longitudinal paths.
Hello @Damian,
Could you provide some additional detail on this idea? I'm not sure what geometry of a bullet is not scan-able, or dimension-able.

Hello Damiian,
PC-DMIS 2027.1 offers Sphere Scanning Strategy.
The feature includes four path generation methods:
Hope this satisfies this need.
