Quick edit of the report header

Trevor McLaughlin 7 years ago in Metrology Software / PC-DMIS updated by neil kay 5 years ago 5

I'd like to be able to right click a cell in the report header and edit its contents.

would this be a permanent change to the header label or just for the current PRG being viewed?

Just for the current program. However, it would be great if there was an option to "set as default." Just being able to modify these cells "on the fly" without dealing with label templates would be an improvement.

Something like PPAP report?

Trevor - if you make the report header part of the report template instead of a label template you can do this with a text control object by making the text property user assigned.

I've made a video showing how.

It's really cool functionality - you can specify whether the text is assigned when the template is loaded or when the program is executed; you could almost do away with Input comments & Forms.

Not sure if I'm allowed to link to my site though?

Google 'Automettech' and it's video #5 on the tutorials page.

As I mentioned, you need to make the report header part of the Report template though (video #4), the functionality doesn't exist for label templates.

I Agree with NinjaBadger. Ground rule when handling the report labels and templates is that 'Labels will not allow on the fly edits' whereas templates will allow the same.
