GD&T CAD & OCR Select feature creations should follow any active default MSE we use for QuickFeatures

Say I bring it a CAD model w/ embedded PMI (GD&T) or use the GD&T select from image option, features that are creating ignore any active MSE (default group) that would work with QuickMeasure.  This means, one has to edit the auto feature after the fact.  Same seems to be the issue if creating auto features using the toolbar and dialog.  They do remember what user last did, but they do not follow the MSE when creating new routines.  This also means that items like AutoWrist get ignored.  Only workaround I can find is to QuickMeasure create the feature first and then Click/use the GD&T callout.  If Assuming I have the correct feature type for the association.

Guillermo, it sounds like you are either using an old version of you do not have the correct settings.  Please give me a call to discuss.

So long as you have "Use Measurement Strategy Editor" checked (F5 general settings), PMI consumption will use the default MSE group when creating auto-features.  If you also have "Use Measurement Strategy Widget" checked and you use the Quick-Selection (Shift+click) method to consume the PMI, the widget will be displayed allowing you to make adjustments to each feature, as it is being created.

Neil.  I have actually done my last two demos using 2024.2 and 2026.1 (just released).  Same.
I am not referring to QuickFeatures. I am referring to when we have an MSE, and choose to do either a click on the GD&T PMI or a standard autofeature. from the toolbar.  Are you saying that I must do a Shift+Click on the GD&T?  Why, if we have an active default MSE it should act on any new autofeature using same settings.  Having to do shift+click on the annotated GD&T is not intuitive.

I have not tried keeping the widget open.  I always leave it close as it opens automatically if I do a Shift+Click. But seems to me we should not need it open all of the time if not doing Quickfeatures.
Very often customers ask for autofeatures to remember last settings.  To me it is better flow.

Guillermo, I just tested this myself in PC-DMIS 2026.1.  With "Use Measurement Strategy Editor" enabled in the settings the MSE is applied to auto-features when consuming PMI.  This was using the single click GD&T Selection From CAD mode.  You do not need to use the SHIFT+click "quick PMI" mode, but if you do, the widget will pop up as each feature gets created.  This gives you more granular control during program creation and saves you having to go back to make edits afterwards.  If I'm correct in thinking you're a Hexagon employee, I am happy to talk this through with you on a Teams call, just message me to set something up.

One thing worth noting: We've done a lot of work in the MSE & PMI area over the last few versions so I strongly recommend you use PC-DMIS 2026.1.
