Surface scan following the curve on the surface
I would like the option to scan the surface following an irregular, or made up of geometric shapes curve (red) that is on that surface all the way around (sample on the picture)

PCDMIS 2017 R1 offers quick scan using Polylines. If you create irregular shaped polyline using CAD system then with Ctrl + Click at start point and slignt drag in direction of scan will generate Linear Open scan. You need to have surface at the back of polyline though.
If the shape that you want is a plane, you can do what Saliha suggested - use Auto Plane - Strategy Free From Plane (for scanning probe) or TTP Free Form Plane. In this strategy select path definition tab and then Teach method. Teach method will allow you to create path using lines, arcs and circles.
Perimeter scan does it for you
